When is On-site Engraving Needed?
On-site engraving may be needed in a variety of situations including:
Additional Names
Oftentimes one partner sharing a companion monument will pass first and the headstone will be erected. Once the second partner passes, we may need to engrave the name and/or passing date for the second partner.
New Elements
Sometimes families will choose to add additional artistic elements to an already existing monument. This could include different etchings, expanding on an existing epitaph, or the addition of religious elements.
What is the On-site Engraving Process?
The on-site engraving process begins with a thorough review of your current monument to ensure it is in good shape. We will then take wax rubbings of the existing engraving. Our specialists will determine if using AutoCAD drafting computer technology, or hand drawing is a better match to the current engraving. We will then create a proof of the final design for your approval. A template for either sand-blasting or hand carving will be created from this proof and our skilled artisans will carry out the final engraving.
